October 6, 2011 - According to reports an Anaheim student was struck on the way to school and injured. According to Anaheim Police Sgt. Rick Martinez the accident occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m. when the Anaheim High School student was on his way to school. The accident occurred at the intersection of Citron and Water Streets.

The teen was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by a 17 year old, traveling eastbound, according to Sgt. Martinez. According to Sgt. Martinez it is possible that the dew on the window and the location of the sun caused the driver to run the stop sign at the intersection. The pedestrian teen was crossing the intersection at the time and was struck.

The student that was struck suffered injuries that are not believed to be life threatening. Prior to being transported to the hospital neighbors provided the injured teen with a pillow and blanket, until the paramedics arrived.
