East Palo Alto School Student Struck and Killed by Teacher

September 29, 2011 - According to reports by car accident lawyers at Ehline Law Firm PC, an East Palo Alto school student was struck and killed by a teacher.
According to authorities a six year old student identified as Sioreli Torres Zamora was crossing the street in a crosswalk, with her mother watching her, when she was struck by a car driven by a teacher.
The mother was with her two other children when the accident occurred and watched the accident in horror. According to her mother Guadalupe Zamora the little girl would have been seven years old on Sunday.
According to East Palo Alto Police Chief Ronald Davis said, the accident was a loss of innocence, with a mother and daughter walking to school.
The teacher that struck the six year old, just after 8:00 a.m. has been identified as Falisha Alisha Whiteparker of East Palo Alto and a music teacher at Constano Elementary School. Whiteparker was not arrested, but the accident remains under investigation, according to authorities.
According to East Palo Alto police they are investigating if the teacher driving the BMW was distracted at the time of the accident. Palo Alto Police Chief Davis said that they have heard that it could have been due to the sun in her eyes. Chief Davis said that the sun would mean that drivers should be extra cautious and slow down, the chief also brought up texting, talking on a cell phone eating and drinking in this type of collision.
