Helmet safety

Helmets are to provide protection in motorcycle crashes, football games and other activities that expose the head against shocks and injuries.  A helmet can mean the difference between life and death.  Some helmets are still sold, even though they are not Federal of minimum standards. Some helmets are marked as compliance with the standards, which in fact does not fulfill them. And some helmets still sold, even after they have considered the producers from the market.

You do some research before buying a helmet.

First, never buy a helmet which does not have a name, the DOT standards.

Secondly, should you buy a helmet-authorisation of Snell.  A non-profit organization is the Snell Memorial Foundation, dedicated to test helm and the development of helmet safety standards. Regardless, Snell tests helmets to ensure that they meet strict standards, Snell requiring helmet much larger forces applied as the US Department of transportation.  A label that Snell compliance can be forged, so you check the Snell website, to ensure that the helmet has been tested and approved by Snell.

Thirdly, you will learn how to make a to identify unsafe helmet.

Fourthly, you avoid used or "deployed" helmets. If the helmet has been deleted, crashed, or in the past damaged, it can protect not fully. Any helmet that were damaged or has involved in a crash should be replaced and the old helmet be destroyed should.

Finally a good helmet buy and make sure to use it.
