According to reports published a Fairfax circuit court jury was given the estate a former employee of Inova Fair Oaks Hospital almost $2.25 million dollars the following and operation of a failed Nissen Fundoplication repair. The sentence was later reduced in Virginia's Cap on damages.

This very sad case involved a single mother of a 17-year-old daughter died.
