First UNUM loses finally 15-year-old disability case

First UNUM eventually lost a disability insurance claim case, that goes for the last 15 years since. John McCauley applied for disability all the way back in 1994 and finally received the judgment that he was looking for. After UNUM first could claim in the mid-1990s McCauley denied return to work for financial reasons was however only by his to fight debilitating pain for 8 months. UNUM claims this time meant that McCauley could not restore the benefits, because he had worked more than 6 months. The Court noted that forced the UNUM denial-of-client work and that UNUM, at denying benefits, that the work was used, was a "unprincipled" practice and was the 6-month clause it are ignored.

Courts can ignore parts of contracts, that they see, liberal approval be unenforceable as "unconscionable" or "so grossly unreasonable or outrageous to the Customs and the business practices and the time."  The Court did this and custody case to determine how much UNUM on the back owes benefits McCauley.
