A study by PricewaterhouseCoopers Health Research Institute has come to the conclusion that issued $210 billion annually for defensive medicine.  According to the report, the price of excess: Identification of waste in health care expenditure, this deduction industry and Government are based on interviews with 20 health executives, an overview of 1,000 U.S. consumers and evaluation of 35 studies.  The description of the methodology, research mentioned not the review of the medical records. She would think that would be a good place to look.

The report also States that "a PricewaterhouseCoopers health insurance plans AHIP (), 10% of the costs for the healthcare system due to too much concern in the form of defensive medicine and related legal costs are study with America." "The study proposed that the costs cover medical services physician, patient, hospital, drugs, and others."

Is the question, I would like to ask, where are the medical records, the researchers that back this claim?  I would like to see evidence that the patients medical conditions ensure not the tests and procedures used.

When it comes to medical care, is it a team effort between doctor and patient.  The doctor diagnosed the condition and recommend a treatment plan. Standard of care requires that the doctor to explain the risks and benefits of treatment.  It is then up to the patient decide, whether the treatment or not pursue.
