Defensive medicine costs $210 billion annually - where are the medical records?

A study by PricewaterhouseCoopers Health Research Institute has come to the conclusion that issued $210 billion annually for defensive medicine.  According to the report, the price of excess: Identification of waste in health care expenditure, this deduction industry and Government are based on interviews with 20 health executives, an overview of 1,000 U.S. consumers and evaluation of 35 studies.  The description of the methodology, research mentioned not the review of the medical records. You would think that would be a good place to look.

The report stated that "a PricewaterhouseCoopers health insurance plans AHIP (), 10% of the costs for the healthcare system due to legal costs too much concern in the form of defensive medicine and study with America." "The study suggested that the costs cover medical services physician, patient, hospital, drugs, and others."

The researchers is the question I would like to ask where are the medical records, that this claim back?  I would like to see evidence that the patients medical conditions ensure not the tests and procedures used.

When it comes to medical care is a team effort between doctor and patient.  The doctor diagnosed the condition and recommend a treatment plan. Standard of care requires that the doctor explain risks and benefits of treatment.  It is then up to the patients decide whether the treatment or not pursue.

It can you more to a civil suit in Virginia file costs

Our Virginia legislators are there again.   In an attempt to generate money for the State budget, the Senate courts of Justice Committee has an invoice which court would significantly increase the cost of filing a civil action in Virginia.  It passed with a vote of 23-17. The Bill is now for the House position.

It is estimated that Senate Bill $329 million for Virginia would generate cash-short budget, with a lot going proceeds to law enforcement authorities.

Let me just say, I hope this Bill will be passed in the House.  If this is the case, Virginia of the highest submission would have fees in the country.  , Put it best when he said that the Bill would make it difficult for the "average man before the Court to go." Senator John S. Edwards

There is no question that would make this new filing fees it hard for individuals and small business owners to file complaints, even if they are only trying to collect money that is owed to you.  Some of the submission fees could even triple, costing in the upwards of a thousand dollars, a claim to pursue.

This would suggested that Bill significantly interfere with people looking to a civil lawsuit in Virginia file.  If you were injured due to carelessness of somebody else and are on the fence to a civil suit of pursing, you should get moving before this law is passed.

California car accident costs could reduce spending on the infrastructure.

California car accident costs could reduce spending on the infrastructure.

Posted on Tuesday, May 17, 2011

California is broken, and with budgets stretched thin across the Board, it is difficult to make an effective argument for the increase in expenditure, even if the result is increased security on California roads, to save lives. But a current centers for disease control and prevention report found that California for a full 10% of the country's car accident medical and work loss costs is responsible. With California car accidents it costs far more than any other State is clear, that California actually out of pocket money to save money on infrastructure improvements accidents could reduce.

The CDC report found that of the $41 billion in medical costs in 2005, California much more than the second most expensive state of Texas was responsible for approximately $4.16 billion, $3.50 billion. In some ways, California is already active to improve the safety of drivers, cyclists and pedestrians. San Francisco, for example, the municipal transportation agency has installed green "Bike boxes" to improve the visibility to stop avoidable bike and bicycle accidents. And last week, the SFMTA approved $ 20 million to speeds on Masonic after a string of disturbing pedestrians Avenue to reduce accident deaths.

But some safety advocates say that these measures are also reactive, and that the State only for infrastructure improvements following accident deaths, rather than you to prevent that it is willing to pay in the first place. To appease these critics, California and cities such as San Francisco should similar plans implemented on high traffic streets in the city, rather than focusing exclusively on busy crossroads or streets as symbols of the city accident death problems.

But any improvement should be commended with tight budgets. And if the Masonic Avenue Boulevard plan is successful, could it as an important blueprint serve to reduce the car crash and pedestrian accident deaths in the city and State. If it is effectively duplicated, could cost California as their car accident and save taxpayers a bundle.
