The U.S. consumer product safety Commission (CPSC) has approved a new mandatory standard for improving the safety of children infant beds.

The CPSC reported 122 accidents have happened between the years 2005-2010, including four killed and 43 injured, beds due to unsafe toddler. There are already voluntary standards but these new federal standards add even more protection.

The new federal standard requires the following:

The top edge of the railing must be at least five inches above the toddler bed mattress. Spindle/slat strength test for toddler beds the testing required for crib spindles/fins matches. Separate warnings to address particulate entrapment and strangulation must be infant beds dangers to children.

This comes on the heels of a major recall of infant bed side sleepers. CPSC and at-arm's reach concepts Inc. 76,000 are reminded that these thresholds because there were several reports of babies fall from the elevated mattress on the floor or getting caught between the side of the threshold and the edge of the mattress. If children in this way are caught, they can stifle.

Any crib that converts to a toddler bed must comply with new standards. The default is six months after publication in the Federal Register for toddler beds manufactured or imported on or after that date to take effect.

The CPSC implements new standards for cribs also last year. You banned all drop side cribs have caused deaths, 32 baby and toddler since the year 2000 and other deaths were suspected in 14. All cribs on the market in the United States need to sides have fixed June of this year and all the companies out there have allows them a year in which one of their drop side cribs to be replaced.

Some of the most common causes of child entrapment, gagging, fall injuries and deaths that are consumer products and suffocation. It is the responsibility of the manufacturer to ensure that the products are free of defects, the child may have serious injuries.

Company, the manufacture of the products are usually in the best position to prevent defective products in the market, which is why they are held to account. Manufacturers can be liable for injuries caused by their defective or unreasonably dangerous products, even if they were not negligent.

There are a few things, that the plaintiff in a product liability case must do:

The plaintiff must prove that the product caused the injuries. The aggrieved party should also set that they were in fact the product in such a way that it should be used, or that the manufacturer should have provided that the product "could be used" in a certain way.
