Glendora Police Lt. Tim Stabb, said the pit bull attack involved a 67 year old man and retired fire captain that suffered puncture wounds to his face , arms, legs, torso and groin. The man also suffered a separated or broken shoulder and was transported to the hospital from the scene of the dog bite attack.

The attack was occurring when Glendora Police Officer Matt Fenner drove up on the scene and shot one of the pit bulls and stuck the other with his patrol car. Glendora Police believe that Officer Fenner’s actions saved the retired fire captain from further injury or being killed by the two dogs.

According to Officer Fenner as he arrived on the scene, he saw the retired fire chief attempting to pull himself over a wall to get away from the dog bite attack. He struck the one pit bull that was circling the 67 year old man preparing to attack again, in order to stop the attack.

When Officer Fenner got out of his patrol car the other pit bull turned at came at him and he shot the dog and fatally wounded it. The dog that had been struck limped away to the grounds of an elementary school, where the officer followed it, until animal control officers arrived and tranquilized the pit bull. The dog later died at a veterinary clinic, according to authorities.

According to Glendora Police neither of the dogs were wearing tags and authorities are looking for the owner. The dog bite lawyers at Ehline Law Firm PC are watching this case and will shortly have their theories and liability, damages, and recovery of assets through tort law.
