"Clients at any time reserve the right, consult your own selection." This right includes the right to raise and to replace their lawyers at any time. Under this law a client may find in another lawyer on the case at EB make an informed decision, whether a change is justified the lawyer. Comment to rule 4.2 makes it clear that it speak for a lawyer with a represented party with regard to that person legal matter is improper. Of course, lawyer from such contact would be prohibited if he represented a different party in the matter.
