List of fatal San Francisco pedestrian accidents - 2011

The thought killed, when a pedestrian in San Francisco is frightening. Pedestrian fatal accidents happen all too often in the Bay area, especially when you consider that recently the second most walkable city from the site walk San Francisco named score. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to guarantee the safety of pedestrians in a busy city like San Francisco. Organisations such as WalkSF have been incredible on raising awareness on the safety of pedestrians programmes and lobbying the city to improve heavy.


But fatal accidents remain in San Francisco, which already 8 pedestrian mourned this year has too often. These accidents receive not strange, often the media attention that they deserve. Below the 2011 San Francisco is to a complete list of pedestrian accidents with links further details of the accident and the victim.

January 27: Norman Daly, 75-year-old pedestrian, was taken on the corner of Lincoln Road and 26 Avenue by a motorcyclist. Daly died on 23 February.March 14: 87-year-old Aurora Venida and seriously wounded in the corner of Geary Boulevard and Arguello to. She died in hospital two days later.March 18: San Francisco-based Lourdes Richman was hit and killed by a truck at the corner of the second and Townsend in the vicinity of AT & T Park.March 19: Weather was called in only a week likely factor in this pedestrian accident on the corner of 8th and market, the third deadly collision.May 6: 61-year-old James Hudson and killed while crossing the Masonic Avenue and Turk Boulevard in a hit-and-run accident on. San Francisco later arrested Cadet José Jiménez Sheriffs and accused of the hit-and-run.May 25: 22-year-old pedestrian Marina was killed in Lombard and Pierce roads in the district at 1:20 am. Police immediately excluded alcohol as a potential factor.June 18: A 40 - year-old pedestrian was in a hit-and-run accident on the 18th and Mission Street in the Mission District seriously injured. The victim's injuries proved fatal hours later.July 12: A pedestrian was 19 Ave near the ramp for Interstate Highway 280 killed at 3 o'clock. This remained vamp for hours, closed, as police investigated the accident.

The tragic reality is that many of these pedestrian deaths could have been avoided. Fortunately, the city of San Francisco to make safer steps of streets for pedestrians and cyclists takes.
