Mexican trucks still not safe for us!

The DOT strikes again, Mexican trucks full access to that allow United States under NAFTA. The proposed pilot program is available here. This was a bad idea in 2007, as I originally blogged on the topic here, and remains today set a bad idea for reasons listed below:

Mexican companies have a trial period proposed 3 months in the first phase, requiring only three inspections per month during this period. In the second phase that inspections can drop off and the company run more and unsafe trucks, when they want. The third phase is after 18 months in power and, after a review of the match which carrier then extensive operational authority is given. Nothing is preventing the Mexican society because, with 1 or 2 truck for the first period, then hundreds of unsafe trucks after authorization has been given. This is only one of many possible fraud under this erroneous program can be run.The Inspector General found DOT, in 2009, that included the Mexican CDL database with information and lack of information within the system.Mexican drivers may be more than a CDL, so harder to dangerous truckers with these licenses to track it. This is CDL for us invalid driver. There are still sufficient perform a problem bus and lorry inspections at the border safely and efficiently. The facilities and equipment are still Laking insufficient for a complete review Programm.Ausgebildete DOT inspection personnel, to make a large number of trucks and buses. Today, the truck in the United States % are checked only 1-2. In the last ten years, how many more trained DOT were filed inspectors at the border? Anyone who looks on the DOT budget can quickly tell that the number of inspectors is not increased over the years. In 1998 50% of the Mexican truck have been identified, that the service at the borderA position had 1,300 trucks every day with only an inspector (an inspector can do 10-14 truck on a day of the IG's Office) and no inspectors had some sites.  U.S. trucks have brakes managed by us not certified brake inspectors, Mexican trucking companies. U.S. drivers are inscribed with their driving history for employers in the job of screening program (PSP), Mexican truckers not. U.S. carriers are controlled by the point on their business, really we want DOT inspectors have Mexican company at their headquarters in Mexico inspection?   Certainly must Mexican company but as be sure? US companies have inspections and are of size, with most:

a. unsafe driving

b. tired driving

c. driver fitness

d. drugs and alcohol

e. vehicle maintenance

f. securing and load

g. crash history

This is a bad idea is short. Good luck of the Mexican driver after a wreck. Take the deposit by a custodian of records somewhere in Mexico best of luck! Injured Americans have to pay more to get less justice and it could be prevented all.

Currently almost 4,000 people die tractor trailer a year such as system crashes that safer U.S. inspected. Want to we really be there to find out how much is worse in the framework of this programme of NAFTA? I predict that the number of deaths rise on our motorways about two years into force is under this programme, after it. I hope I me funky, and even more that this is never in force!

Now, call your Senators and congressmen and ask them to vote against!
