The trip from hell in Huntsville, Texas: the driver of the truck remains hanging in cruise control
It was a ride that will - never forget young Gatlin Jeter and it was caught on camera. Last Saturday, Jeter was on his way to get something for his grandmother when he could get the cruise control on his Ford F-150 to disengage. Jeter was headed in the direction he thought what 60 mph was an impending car crash.
"I went to slow, if I don't go the breaks would taken breaks." The breaks would move not at all. So at this point, I realized that something is wrong. I have tried to turn the key. I tried using the gear shift. Nothing worked. Nothing moves, "said Jeter."
He frantically called 911 and told them what had happened. Officer Rocky Carrell got the call and was in the track by the time of the truck acceleration nick. Carrell his police SUV could use only a few blocks from the lively centre of Huntsville and a busy intersection, to stop the truck.
I heard this story on the today show this morning. Frightening, to say the least. Here is the video of how the officer the truck stop was:
There is a product liability problem with the truck stuck cruise control? It could have been possible if the run-away van was suspended not even though Ford said they can not the incident comment and are not aware security problems with the truck cruise control system.
I'm just glad that everyone was safe, and knew that rogue vehicle driver what to do - call the police. On my blogs I write recovered personal injury through negligent drivers caused much, but I'm even on a letter that was prevented.
