As a Seattle car accident attorney, I recognize that there are all kinds of strange circumstances that one might encounter while driving. The unpredictability of the road and nature around it can often catch us off guard. MyNorthwest.com reported about a car hitting a deer in the early morning of Tuesday October 18th. Hitting a deer is uncommon enough but the strange result of this accident was surprising to everyone. While driving southbound on I-5 near Olympia, an unsuspecting vehicle struck a deer from the front. The deer initially hit the windshield and then flipped in the air and landed in the back window of the car. The driver of the 2001 Hyundai was not seriously injured and was able to pull over onto the shoulder. Even though in this situation no one was injured, this could have potentially been extremely dangerous for the driver and others in the nearby vicinity. Animals cause accidents in many locations, this collision could have easily happened on the roads of a local community like Kent.

Wildlife on the road is dangerous and very unpredictable. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, in 2000, around 247,000 car accidents involved incidents in which the vehicle directly hit an animal on the roadway. Furthermore, an estimated 200 fatalities resulted from crashes involving animals from that year. Animals on the road are inevitable and are something that drivers should be aware of and take into consideration when traveling.

On this blog I spend much time talking about drunk driving lawyer, but as Seattle car accident I know, there are many other types of reckless driving life a person just as quickly can change such as one that is caused by a drunk driver. Reckless driving is according to the Washington State law when a driver operates intentionally or not, to justify a vehicle with a disregard for the safety of other persons or property. This broad definition can many things that are categorized as reckless driving, including excessive acceleration. Vehicular homicide is considered reckless driving leads to the death of someone else.

Cory Duke of Renton, 18, has commissioned vehicular homicide and reckless endangerment after an accident, which occurred in December 2010. Duke, 17 year-old Shelby Lee and two other passengers were traveling, lost Maple Valley as Duke, the driver, control of the vehicle. His 1991 Ford Escort left the road after a curve overcorrected where he, sending his car into a fire hydrant and a hill where it bounced off a tree. The accident about 10:15 am occurred, Lee left with serious injuries and died on the way to the Harborview Medical Center. After the accident Duke acceleration recorded and estimated that he 75 mph in a zone with a top speed of 40. The investigator's report found that Lee died as a direct result of the accident. According to the charges, Duke worked the vehicle in a "reckless manner with disregard for the safety of the other" at the time of the accident.

This accident was and is a tragedy, and my heart goes out to the family of the victim. It is likely that the last, what wants to think of the family of the victim is legal action, but they have good cause to a wrongful death claim.
