As a Seattle car accident attorney, I know that multiple vehicle crashes are not the only danger on our roads.  On Tuesday, King5.com reported on an elderly woman who drove her car into the side of a Jo Ann Fabrics store in shoreline resulting in the death of one of her two passengers while both the driver and the other passenger are in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center.  The three ladies were friends who regularly ate lunch at a Shari’s Restaurant which shares a parking lot with the fabric store.  They appear to have just finished lunch and were leaving when the driver lost control of her Honda Accord and struck a post.  It does not appear to be clear what caused the driver to lose control of the car, but the impact was hard enough to deploy the airbags.   Shoppers inside the store reported shaking of fixtures as though there had been an earthquake, but no one other than the three occupants of the car were injured.  This tragedy leaves a family grieving for its loss, while two other families must rally around hoping for the best.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is drowsiness or fatigue a factor in nearly 100,000 accidents every year. Fortunately both drivers were wearing seat belts. Hathaway with hip, leg and chest injuries taken to Harborview Medical Center was and Worrall was not injured. Investigators Highway 101 for almost four hours closed and determined the cause of the accident to Hathaway asleep. It was with negligent driving in the second degree and wait for your process.
