Route 516 Crash in New Jersey Injures Three

A serious accident involving two vehicles and a garbage truck occurred in Old Bridge on Friday, September 23. A Honda Accord driven by Janelle Williams, 30, of Old Bridge, was struck by a garbage truck that swerved while attempting to avoid a Subaru Forester, which was making a U-turn.
Williams and her seven-year-old son were badly injured, and were taken to Robert Wood University Hospital. Williams, who sustained several broken bones, facial wounds, and internal injuries, was listed in critical condition. Her son, who also sustained broken bones and facial injuries, was listed in serious condition. The driver of the Subaru, Michael Kucsak, 68, of Carteret, suffered a brain injury and was listed in serious condition. The driver of the garbage truck was not injured.

A New Jersey woman was killed in a DUI accident on I-295 in West Deptford on September 17. Jenita Noel was killed when the car she was riding in lost control and hit a retaining wall. The crash left the vehicle’s four occupants trapped. Emergency crews pried them free.
Police say the car’s driver, Karon Blanton, was driving under the influence (DUI) on a suspended license. Blanton faces vehicular homicide charges and is being held on a $250,000 bond. The vehicle’s other occupants, Rudolph Curby and Corey Kersey, were treated at area hospitals.

New Jersey Driver Indicted for Deadly Crash

A New Jersey man was indicted on Monday by a Monmouth County grand jury, facing several charges pertaining to a fatal crash on the Garden State Parkway earlier this year. Eric Periera, 23 years old of Jackson, was under the influence of alcohol when he rear-ended a van near mile marker 120 in Aberdeen Township on April 2nd.
The van, driven by Kevin Donnelly of Middletown, hit a guardrail and flipped over, hitting another vehicle heading southbound on the same road. Donnelly was killed in the crash, and two of his passengers along with the driver of the third vehicle sustained injuries from the New Jersey car accident. Periera faces charges for one count of vehicular homicide and three counts of assault by auto.

Fiery car crash shut down New Jersey Turnpike
Parts of the New Jersey Turnpike were almost four hours on Tuesday June 28th from shortly after 4: 00 pm to 8 pm after crashing, shut down. According to police reports, the accident at the a semi-trailer radio message came a recreational vehicle. RV, which was towing a car then crashed into a second RV, that was before that.
After the second crash, fire caught the two rear vehicles. A ruptured tank was the cause of the fire, according to the State police.

People killed this year in New Jersey - indeed have spiked heel, deaths are up 18% over 2010 numbers, according to the associated press. For the same period of last year, there were 195 driving fatalities on New Jersey Highways. This year, this number increased to 230.
So far, officials have still deaths on any specific cause pin the increase in the highway, but it is believed that distracted driving can be largely to blame. The announcement is to reduce part of a summer campaign, drunk driving and seat belt usage increase. The campaign hopes "101 days of summer", that to reduce deaths on New Jersey Highways.
