Man Involved in Deadly Crash While Talking on Cell Could Face Homicide Charges
AppId is over the quota
October 26, 2011 - You know, I see police on their cell phone all the time and frankly, this is absurd. Since when did the servants become our masters? So, it is with baited breath that I bring this discussion. According to reports a driver involved in a deadly crash, while talking on a cell phone could be facing homicide charges.
Now, here the facts are that the cell phone prompted the cop to make a stop. According to Concord Police 25 year old Mauro Gutierrez was seen by a Concord police officer talking on a cell phone without a hands free device on Hillsdale Drive, in the vicinity of Overhill Road at approximately 5:45 on Tuesday.
So, the selective enforcement of this law, led to a death. The officer attempted to stop Guiterrez, which turned into a chase southbound on Grant Street until the Highway 242 off ramp. This is where Guiterrez struck another vehicle resulting in the death of the driver of that vehicle.
Gutierrez then attempted to run and was caught approximately a block away from the crash. The 25 year old was arrested and allegedly was in possession of an illegal handgun. According to Concord Police, Gutierrez could be charged with second degree murder and will most likely face other charges for driving recklessly, fleeing from a police officer and violating the cell phone hands free law. The identity of the driver that was killed in the collision has not been released pending notification of their family. What do you think? Do you see my point about how the government needs to know the law and keep it well?
Anyways, I have been discussing these types of cases as a speaker for the personal injury attorneys at Ehline Law Firm PC at 633 West Fifth Street, 28th Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90071. 213.596.9642. Whether a motorcycle accident, or wrongful death, negligence it was propels your injury claims.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family of Kyle and Zachary Downin during this extremely difficult and tragic time. We hope that Zachary Binnix is able to experience a complete recovery from his injuries from the tragic Washington Township car accident.
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, “motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for U.S. teens, accounting for more than one in three deaths in this age group.” The same report also states that “In 2009, about 3,000 teens in the United States aged 15–19 were killed and more than 350,000 were treated in emergency departments for injuries suffered in motor-vehicle crashes.” With such a large statistic looming, we need to take extra precautions to ensure the safety of young drivers and their passengers like raising awareness and education.

Recent Auto-Bicycle Accident Turns Deadly in Cook County
AppId is over the quota
Bicycling in your neighborhood or to work should be an enjoyable, stress-free activity. But for a man in Cook County, Illinois, and for thousands of other bike riders, careless or negligent drivers can cause a serious injury or death. In late July, a 79-year-old man was cycling two blocks from his home in suburban Maywood when he was hit by an automobile shortly after 8 p.m. Within an hour he passed away at Loyola University Medical Center.
According to BIKESAFE, most automobile-bicycle accidents occur in the summer months of June, July, and August between 5 and 9 p.m. Through its case studies, BIKESAFE, in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Transportation, found that auto-bicycle accidents are most often caused by a driver who:
fails to yield at an intersection light
fails to yield at a stop sign
drives out mid-block or mid-driveway
turns left or right into a bicycle path
tries to overtake a bicycle
An estimated 53,000 injuries occur every year from auto-bicycle accidents and two percent of them are fatal. Cyclists must be mindful to wear helmets, obey traffic laws, and be aware of vehicles around them. In urban areas in and around Chicago, cyclists also have to be cautious with drivers going high speeds. Poor sight distance, speeds that make it harder to brake quickly, and traffic jams can increase the chances of an accident. Injuries can also occur when bicycles ride next to parked vehicles and a door is opened unexpectedly. And in the case of the Cook County senior, riding at dusk and into the night hours can cause visibility problems. Cyclists should be sure to use rear reflectors, pulsing lights, and other bright gear when they ride at night.
Automobile-bicycle accidents can cause serious brain injuries, even when cyclists are struck by vehicles going 35 mph or less. Back and limb injuries are also very common. When an accident like this occurs, the driver’s car insurance is responsible for your medical expenses. The Chicago bicycle accident lawyers at Briskman Briskman & Greenberg have helped many accident victims recover compensation for their medical bills, pain and suffering, future care, and lost wages. New Texas law increased risk of deadly big rig wreck
Created at: 7 July 2011 by Mark A. AndersonAs Dallas-Fort Worth personal injury attorney with 20 years of experience in dealing has serious 18-Wheeler wreck, one of the new Texas laws due to on 1 September 2011 in force concerned for the safety of drivers and passengers come me during our State travel. House Bill 1353 increased the speed limit on State and us highways outside of urban areas to 75 mph. The reasoning behind this is that it reduces causing the traffic collisions aggressive driver, but ruthlessly change the railways or tailgate other vehicles, which are slower driving. While I certainly with the frustration is stuck behind a slow-moving trailer truck can sympathize, I have the logic of the laws seemingly designed to make dangerous drivers in question.
Perhaps the most disturbing, HB 1353 neglected to recognize the additional dangers created by increasing the speed at night for commercial vehicles. 410 Texans are killed according to data from the Department of transportation already, every year in the big rig accidents. The Texas commercial driver license manual recognizes the very real risk of a big rig driving too fast, as well as at 55 mph at least 290 feet will be a tractor trailer to a halt. The problem is that light trucks Spotlight only 250 before the driver. Which means when a car in the truck and the truck goes right into it causing massive injury to crash.
This scheme seems incredibly bad to me. I can't see how it safer at all could make Texas roads.
