September 20, 2011 - According to reports the driver of a deadly hit and run incident that took the life of a 72 year old surrendered to authorities.

According to the sheriff’s deputies the hit and run crash occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Santa Gertrudes Street in La Mirada, in the vicinity between Alicante Road and Imperial Highway. The man that was struck and killed by a Chevy Malibu, has been identified as 72 year old Raul Quintanilla.

The Chevy Malibu was found a few blocks from the scene of the crash. According to sheriff’s deputies 18 year old Geoffrey Rocha turned himself in to authorities at the Norwalk sheriff’s station at approximately 4:00 p.m.

Authorities stated the Chevy Malibu that was involved in the fatal hit and run was registered to a 67 year old woman. Police stated that they were looking for a male driver that was involved in the crash.
